Police say a 25-year-old woman is now facing charges in relation to a case of cyberbullying against a teenage girl.

CTV News has been following the case of a 15-year-old girl — whose identity is being protected — who says she has been the victim of cyberbullying and an alleged sexual assault involving a woman ten years older than her.

She told police someone had opened several Instagram accounts using her name and image, using them to post hardcore pornography while pretending to be her.

After the girl’s story aired on CTV News, she received a death threat.

Police say a 25-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday and will be charged with making threats and sexually assaulting the girl.
