RCMP in New Brunswick say they have arrested a 36-year-old man in connection to the 2004 death of two-year-old Kennedy Corrigan.

Corrigan, whose death is listed on the RCMP’s “Unsolved Homicides and Suspicious Deaths” webpage, suffered a massive brain injury on April 2, 2004 in Central Blissville, N.B., police say.

She died in hospital a week later.

The head injury was allegedly the result of falling in the tub at her Blissville home, but police say medical evidence at the time supported the police theory the death was not accidental.

That evidence was not definitive, police say, but the emergence of new evidence led to the arrest on Tuesday of the 36-year-old male suspect.

He is scheduled to appear in Burton provincial court on Wednesday, police say.
