SAINT JOHN, N.B. -- The Canadian Red Cross says more than a dozen people have been displaced by a fire at an apartment building in New Brunswick.

The Red Cross says the blaze at the three-storey building in the north end of Saint John broke out Friday afternoon.

They say the fire on the third floor caused smoke and water damage throughout the building.

One person was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.

The Red Cross says they are helping with emergency lodging for six of the tenants, while others are staying with relatives or friends
