A 48-year-old man from Beaverbrook, N.S., is in custody after he allegedly struck an RCMP vehicle with his own Thursday afternoon.

Nova Scotia RCMP say the incident happened around 1 p.m. on Princeport Road. The officer suffered minor injuries and was able to arrest the driver without incident.

The driver was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was held overnight and appeared in Truro provincial court on Friday.

The man will remain in custody until he returns to court on Tuesday.
