The RCMP say the body of a missing fisherman has been found in the Fisher Lake area of Nova Scotia’s Annapolis County.

Annapolis County RCMP received a call before 7:30 p.m. Tuesday that a fisherman was missing after his boat capsized on Fisher Lake around 5 p.m.

Police say one man in the boat managed to swim to shore and called the RCMP.

The Department of Natural Resources, Annapolis County Ground Search and Rescue, local fire departments, the Annapolis Valley Water Rescue unit, and community members assisted in searching for the man overnight.

Search crews found the body of the 51-year-old man in the Fisher Lake area shortly after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

His name has not been released.
