A boil water order has been lifted for nearly 25,000 Cape Breton residents.

The advisory was imposed on Friday for people on the Glace Bay water system after routine testing showed a sample of concern.

The Cape Breton Regional Municipality water utility says they have received two clear sample results so customers are no longer required to boil their water.

The advisory is lifted in the communities of Glace Bay, Dominion, Reserve Mines, Tower Road, Donkin, Port Caledonia, Birch Grove and Port Morien.
