Police in Bridgewater, N.S. are asking for the public’s help in locating a man suspected in a stabbing.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of 29-year-old Stephen Douglas Heisler after a man was stabbed on Pleasant Street shortly after 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the suspect fled on foot. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Heisler is facing charges of aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, breach of court orders and mischief in connection with the incident.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and more charges are anticipated.

Heisler is described as a white male with short blonde hair. He is five-foot-ten and weighs 160 pounds. Police say he has no fixed address.
