A 24-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have been arrested and charged after police in Bridgewater, N.S., seized weapons and ammunition during a traffic stop Friday night. 

Bridgewater Police Services say the vehicle was pulled over just after 7 p.m. on Glenridge Avenue in relation to an impaired driving investigation.

During the traffic stop, police say officers seized a sawed off shotgun, a bulletproof vest, ammunition and other prohibited weapons.

The pair from Lunenburg County was arrested at the scene and are facing numerous weapons charges.

Both are scheduled to appear in Bridgewater court on Feb. 8.
