Catie Miller’s parents are still searching for answers three months after she disappeared from her apartment in Dartmouth.

Miller, 29, last spoke to her family on July 15, when she texted her mother. She didn’t indicate she intended to go anywhere, but she hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

“There is nothing new. That’s the sad part,” says her father, John Miller.

He says he hasn’t heard anything from police either, except that they would contact him when they were out of leads.

Const. Pierre Bourdages says the investigation is ongoing.

“It’s still a very active missing persons investigation, but unfortunately there’s nothing new to report,” says Bourdages.

In August, police found a cellphone in connection with the case at the Dartmouth Sportsplex, but they’re not saying what the discovery means to the investigation.

“It’s a phone in relations to the investigation but I cannot tell you who that phone belonged to or what, if anything, was found on it,” says Bourdages.

Adding to the family’s pain, Miller says they recently had to clean out Catie’s apartment.

“That’s very emotional, very emotional to be going through everything and putting it in totes and boxes and the like,” he says. “It just underlines the ugliness of the whole situation.”

For now, Miller says he can only wait and hope that his daughter will soon turn up.

“It’s harder to remain optimistic. We haven’t given up hope that she’ll come back to us, but it does make it tougher.”

Police are asking anyone with information on Miller’s disappearance to come forward.

She is described as a white female with brown shoulder-length hair and grey eyes. She is about five-foot-eight and weighs 130 pounds.

Police say her ears are pierced and she has no known tattoos. She often wears her hair in a ponytail.
