CHARLOTTETOWN - Police in Charlottetown say they're seeing a rise in an email scam involving CEO fraud.

They say people posing as corporate bosses email employees and ask them to wire funds to a certain location.

They use look-alike domain names that are usually one or two letters off the company's real name.

Police say businesses should have fail-safe systems in place to make sure the emails are legitimate.

They say companies should also be careful about posting information on social media about employee activities, such as when bosses are out of the office or travelling.

Police say companies that have received such emails should contact them.
