Traffic was disrupted Wednesday morning for many Halifax-area commuters who use one of the Harbour Bridges.

Barrington Street was closed northbound and southbound under the MacKay Bridge for nearly three hours. The backlog started around 5:30 a.m.

Police say an abandoned car was found on the bridge and was shortly towed away, re-opening traffic for drivers heading to Dartmouth.

The bridge and Barrington Street are now open to traffic.
