Priya Sam

News anchor, CTV Morning Live and CTV News at Noon

Priya Sam is no longer with CTV Atlantic.

In the short time Priya Sam has been at CTV Atlantic, she has done numerous jobs in the newsroom. When she first arrived in 2013, she worked in the control room during live broadcasts, then smoothly transitioned to reporting, covering both breaking news and feature stories. She started presenting weather soon after and is now the news anchor for CTV Morning Live.

In her newest role, Priya not only brings Atlantic Canadians their first news of the day, she also anchors the CTV News at Noon. Priya enjoys being the first one in the newsroom compiling the day’s news each morning.

Priya grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan and moved to Ontario for post-secondary education. While studying at the University of Western Ontario, she also tried her hand at radio, working at 102.3 BOB FM where she filled in for the morning news anchor.

After graduating, Priya spent six years living in South Korea where she taught English and travelled through Asia and Europe.

Priya’s next move was to Halifax to attend the University of King’s College where she completed her Master’s Degree in May 2014. While she was a student at King’s, she grew to love the East Coast.

Outside of work, you’ll find Priya in a fitness class, at the Farmer’s Market or with her nose in a book. She also loves to cook, but never turns down the opportunity to try new restaurants.
