Hi Everyone!

I am so psyched to have spent some time chatting with “Tig” today!  Well, okay, the actor who plays “Tig” on 'Sons of Anarchy'!  Kim Coates has carved out quite a career for himself, but did you know it all started in Halifax in the 80’s?  Kim acted in about a dozen productions at Neptune Theatre, from “West Side Story” to “Romeo and Juliette”.  In fact, the seasoned pro, calls Halifax his second home and tries to get here at least once a year.

He still has close ties to the theatre community in Halifax too.  It’s those ties that brought him to Halifax this week. His dear friend, Kathryn McLellan, lured him back for a fundraiser.

Kathryn and her sister Janet started Kazan Theatre Co-op about two years ago… a non-profit theatre company that’s gaining quite a reputation in these parts.  Tomorrow night, Kazan is having its first ever fundraiser and Kim is in town to be part of the event.  A fabulous event at that ;)

Tomorrow night at the Spatz Theatre (Halifax), Kim and Kathryn will take the stage for an interview style show where they’ll share their earliest memories of acting in the Maritimes.  Bill Carr and John Dunsworth (Mr. Lahey from the Trailer Park Boys) will also be on hand.  The event promises to be a lot of laughs and you’ll even have an opportunity to rub elbows with Kim at the after party ;)

Now it’s my turn to gush. As a fan of 'Sons of Anarchy', I was really excited to chat with Kim and I have to say, I was not disappointed!  He’s a total class act…and hilarious, too!  It’s hard to believe, but I’m an even bigger fan now… and that says a lot.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, I did ask what was coming up next season for 'Sons'… Kim says, creator - Kurt Sutter - keeps the story-line pretty close and doesn’t share until he absolutely has to.  In other words, we’ll have to wait until next season!  Can’t wait!

And finally, a big thanks to Kim and Kathryn for taking some time today... it was a total pleasure!

Saying Goodbye
Speaking of cool guys, we said goodbye to Paul Hollingsworth today.  "Holli" worked his final shift at CTV Atlantic today after 18 years!  But don't worry everyone, you'll still see him occasionally on TSN!

I had a chance to chat with Paul about some of his most memorable moments throughout his broadcast career.  Click here for the video.

Wishing you all the best, old friend.  You'll be missed!
