Thousands have flocked to the Canada Games Oval on the Halifax Common since it opened earlier this winter, and now Halifax Council has to decide whether it will stay put.

There has been a push to make the Oval a permanent fixture because of its popularity, but it comes with a hefty price tag.

It's estimated that it would cost the city one $1 million dollars to make the Oval permanent, not to mention the operating costs, which could be as high as half a million each year.

Mayor Peter Kelly says council will make the decision soon.
