An elderly New Brunswick man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Upper Keswick.

RCMP responded to the crash on Highway 104 around 3 p.m. Sunday.

They say a vehicle was travelling northbound when it crossed the centre line and struck an oncoming van.

The driver of the van – an 80-year-old man from Upper Keswick – was pronounced dead at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital in Fredericton.

Highway 104 was closed for roughly six hours while police investigated the scene.

They are still investigating the cause of the crash, but believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor.

The name of the victim is being withheld at this time.
