The Emera Oval is now open for the season on the Halifax Common.
Public skates will be held daily as ice and weather conditions allow.
Be sure to take part in the CTV Family Skate Day on Thursday, February 21!
CTV Morning Live will be at the oval beginning at 7 a.m. and CTV News at 5 will take over from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
You could walk away with a CTV toque or scarf, and C100 Radio will be on hand to help with the music!

- Thursday, February 21 - CTV Family Skate Day. CTV Morning Live will broadcast from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. during the morning skate. CTV News at 5 will broadcast live for an hour during the afternoon skate, which takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Grab your skates and join CTV hosts and staff...you could also win some fabulous CTV prizes!
- Saturday, February 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. - Music Nova Scotia Showcase (live, local music showcase hosted by Music Nova Scotia)
- Saturday, February 23 and Sunday, February 24 - Intact Day on Skates (free speed skating clinics, plus stop by for a chance to meet Olympic champion and speed skating ambassador Catriona LeMay Doan, who will be signing autographs. Visit the speed skating Canada tent at the Emera Oval to register.)
- March 1 - 3 - Speed skating camp
