The three officers killed in Moncton in June, 2014 were added to the New Brunswick Peace Officers’ Memorial on Sunday.

The ceremony happens every two years in Fredericton to honour those who have fallen in the line of duty.

“Every time I listen to amazing grace, it brings me right back to the funeral,” said A/Commr. Roger Brown. “It brings it back to the memories of those three members, those families, it's never easy.”

Cst. Fabrice Gevaudan, Cst. David Ross and Cst. Douglas Larche were killed on June 5 last year while on duty.

There are 32 names on the memorial, ranging from Confederation to the present day.

Lisa Price was on hand to honour her father Raymond Ward, who was killed in a 1992 traffic accident while working commercial vehicle enforcement.

“I remember that day very well,” she said. “I was in high school senior year. I could probably tell you about every minute of that day.”

As difficult as the day was, Price says she finds comfort in her surroundings.

“It’s honouring to have your family member on something like this, doing what he loved, and honouring everybody on there,” she said.

Law enforcement members from across the province were at the gathering.

“We join these organizations to make a difference because it's a career of service,” said A/Commr Brown. “When you give and give an entire career it's really nice to see the support of everybody for what we do day in and day out.”

The New Brunswick Peace Officers’ Memorial stands along the banks of the St. John River near the New Brunswick Firefighters’ Memorial.

It will have its own ceremony on Sept. 11.
