ALBANY, P.E.I. -- The RCMP in Prince Edward Island have charged five men in connection with an armed robbery last August.

Police say they responded to an armed robbery call at a home in Albany on Aug. 17.

The home's owner told police several masked men carrying weapons entered the premises and assaulted him before fleeing with a large sum of money.

The Mounties say a three-month investigation resulted in the arrest of 19-year-old Nathan Noonan, 20-year-old Dustin Noonan, 20-year-old Alexander Payne, 21-year-old Lyle MacDougall and 21-year-old Joseph Dugay.

Dustin Noonan is to go to trial on Dec. 11.

Police say the four other men who were charged will return to court Jan. 3 to enter a plea.
