The Fredericton Chamber of Commerce is calling on the province to act quickly to lift its moratorium on hydraulic fracturing.

Last week the Liberal government introduced legislation that would prohibit fracking until concerns about health, the environment and First Nations input are addressed.

The chamber says it wants the government to move as expediently as possible to meet those conditions.

Chamber president Joseph O'Donnell says the business group's primary concern is that future decisions will be based on political rather than economic agendas.
