Halifax will soon be afloat with visitors from around the globe coming to the port city to commemorate the most famous ship sinking in history.

Sunday, April 15 will mark one hundred years since the Titanic met its fate when it struck an iceberg off the coast of Newfoundland.

From restaurants and hotels, to a museum, visitors will be able to take in a special experience tailored around the Titanic as well as take part in seminars and lectures for the rest of the month.

A Titanic dinner theatre opened at the Cunard Centre last week with shows six days a week. The menu includes items served on board the giant ship, a mix of first, second and third class dishes.

Cruise ships with a Titanic theme will also be arriving at the Port of Halifax this week, with guided tours put in place to remember the event that continues to have an impact a hundred years after it happened.
