The Halifax Hurricanes are now considered among the elite in the National Basketball League of Canada after their win over the Island Storm.

The Hurricanes topped the Storm 107-99 at the Scotiabank Centre Friday night.

Halifax now holds top spot in the Atlantic Division with a 13-5 record, while the Islanders sit in the division’s basement at 7-14.

The Saint John Mill Rats aren't far behind, holding a record of 12-6.

The Hurricanes will look to increase their division lead against the last place Niagara River Lions on Friday.
