A Halifax man is facing charges in connection with a stabbing that sent a man to hospital last month.

Halifax Regional Police were called to a home on Old Sambro Road around 12:20 a.m. on May 29.

Police say three men had been inside the home when three other men, who had their faces covered, broke in and tried to rob the occupants.

Police say one of the suspects got into a fight with one of the men, who was allegedly stabbed several times.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested a 26-year-old man on Forbes Street in Halifax Wednesday evening.

Michael Christopher Smith is due to appear in Halifax provincial court Thursday to face charges of break and enter, robbery and aggravated assault.

The incident remains under investigation.
