The crash and weather conditions in Halifax created a ripple effect for many passengers flying to and from other Maritime airports.

Flights to and from Halifax were at a standstill for several hours after an Air Canada flight had a hard landing during a snow storm early this morning. This delayed flights out of Halifax for hours.

News of the crash left passengers like Alex Dagget feeling relieved to have made it home safely.

“We arrived in Halifax about 10:00 last night from Calgary to Ottawa,” he says. “It was snowing an blowing pretty hard.”

Several passengers on canceled flights said they were happy with the decision to ground planes until it was safe to fly.

“It was a really good call on their part to cancel the flight to Saint John,” says passenger Randy Hatfield.

His flight from Halifax to Saint John was scheduled to arrive around 9:00 a.m. but was delayed by two hours.

Passengers at the Moncton International Airport also experienced delays and cancellations going to and from Halifax. That was also the case at the Charlottetown airport.
