Halifax police say they have launched an investigation after a large number of bus shelters were damaged in the Halifax area.

Between March 6 and March 16, police say they received 40 reports of glass panes smashed out from bus shelters in various areas of Halifax.

Thirteen of the incidents occurred on Herring Cove Rd., six on Purcell’s Cove Rd., and four on Main Ave. Other locations include Bedford Highway and Quinpool Rd.

Police believe vandals are responsible for the damage but say it is unclear how the damage was done.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police or submit an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
