Nova Scotia's Serious Incident Response Team has cleared two Halifax police officers in an arrest that broke a woman's arm.

The police watchdog says no excessive force was used and no charges are warranted against either officer in the March 20th incident.

A report says during a struggle one of the officers was kicked several times before the other succeeded in getting the woman into handcuffs.

A "pop" was heard as the cuffs were applied and the 21-year-old woman was then taken to hospital and treated for a broken upper right arm.
