Halifax Regional Police are looking for two suspects after an armed robbery at a Needs convenience store early Wednesday.

Police responded to the store in the 0-100 block of Herring Cove Road shortly after 5 a.m.

They say two men entered the store and demanded cash and cigarettes. One of the men was carrying a handgun while the other was carrying a crowbar.

Police say the female clerk wasn’t injured, but the suspects grabbed her and forced her around the store. Then they fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes.

They were last seen travelling up Withrod Drive in a silver, mid-sized car with rust on the bottom of the doors.

The suspects are described as white with slim builds. They were wearing hoodies and masks on the lower part of their faces. One suspect was wearing a reflective traffic vest.

The handgun is described as silver with a wooden handle.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspects is asked to contact police.
