Police in Halifax are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of stealing gas on two separate occasions.

Police say they have received two complaints of gas theft involving the same suspect in the past two weeks.

The incidents took place at the Petro-Canada on Kearnery Lake Road on Aug. 10 and Aug. 18.

In both cases, the suspect arrived in a dark-coloured Pontiac four-door sedan with a tinted rear window and no licence plate.

Police say he filled his car with gas and left without paying.

The suspect is described as a man in his twenties with a thin build. He wore a dark baseball cap and sunglasses on both occasions.
