Halifax Regional Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who approached an 11-year-old girl and offered her money to drive her to school Monday morning.

Police say the girl was walking along Castle Hill Drive when a man in a car pulled up next to her at 8:40 a.m.

He rolled down the passenger-side window, offered her $100 and said he would take her to École Grosvenor Wentworth Park School.

The girl ran away and reported the incident to school officials. Police say the girl wasn’t assaulted or injured.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 40s with short, brown hair. He was driving a light-coloured car and was smoking a cigarette at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspect is asked to contact police.
