Halifax Regional Police are investigating two break-ins that happened in Dartmouth on Tuesday.

Police say two young men, one of whom had a gun, tried to force their way into a home on Joseph Young Street Tuesday afternoon.

Two people were home at the time and managed to keep the suspects out.

The suspects then fled the area.

Police are looking for two black men between the ages of 19 and 23. Both men were wearing bandanas at the time.

The second break-in occurred on Prince Albert Road around midnight when three men forced their way into a home.

One of the men was carrying a gun.

Two people were inside the home during the break-in, but the suspects left the home with $300, a cellphone and a computer.

The homeowners suffered minor injuries.

Police say the suspects are two black men and another whose ethnicity is unknown. The attackers were wearing ski masks at the time.
