It was an early morning for some Bruce Springsteen fans in the Maritimes.

Tickets went on sale early Saturday for the August 26 stop of Springsteen and the E Street Band's tour at Magnetic Hill in Moncton.

Hundreds lined up at the Moncton Coliseum box office for their crack at Grandstand tickets. General Admission tickets are available online, but reserved seating has to be purchased in person or over the phone.

A new lottery system has streamlined the ticket buying process.

"I was bracelet number 47. Forty-two was drawn first, then 43, 44, 45, 46, 47," said Springsteen fan, Suzanne Thurrott.

Thurrott was able to secure four front row tickets for the show.

She says The Boss's enduring popularity is pretty straight forward.

"It's good music. Good music is always, always going to last. If it is good, people will keep listening to it. He is a wonderful song write, great band, great musician and an amazing performer."

Glenn Carroll showed up at 6:25 a.m. He got the third wrist band handed out, and first shot at some great tickets.

"He is a storyteller and when people see him in Moncton, they will know what I'm talking about," said Carroll of the rocker.

Moncton has attracted other big rock names in the past. The Rolling Stones played Magnetic Hill in 2005, and U2 last July.

"Obviously we are thrilled to be hosting Bruce Springsteen," said Jillian Cormier, a spokesperson for the city.

Moncton and Toronto are the only two Canadian cities on Springsteen's Wrecking Ball tour this summer.
