Liberal leadership hopeful Justin Trudeau continues his campaign in Halifax today.

Trudeau attended the Nova Scotia Liberal Party’s annual leader’s dinner Monday night, at the end of what appeared to be a good day for the federal party.

A new poll shows a surge in popular support for the Liberals, since Trudeau announced his intention to run for the federal leadership earlier this month.

The Liberals have surged ahead of the NDP, except in Quebec.

Trudeau says it’s time to restore the faith of Canadians.

“We’ve had enough of the politics of division, of envy, of mistrust, or playing regions against one another, playing groups against one another,” said Trudeau Monday night. “It’s time we elect a party that spoke to, with, and for, all Canadians.”

“Nova Scotians are well aware they need a government looking toward the future and not one that’s looking toward the past,” said Nova Scotia Liberal leader Stephen McNeil.

Senator Romeo Dallaire was the keynote speaker at the annual dinner.

Trudeau is scheduled to take questions from students at Halifax’s Citadel High School Tuesday afternoon.
