A 48-year-old sailor has been reported missing from 12 Wing Shearwater in Shearwater, N.S.
According to a news release from the Canadian Forces, Leading Seaman Benoit Bilodeau was last seen walking near a bus stop in front of the base around 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service learned of Bilodeau’s disappearance on Wednesday and is now investigating.
A spokesperson says they have received a number of tips, but have yet to locate him, and aren’t ruling out foul play.
They also say it is out of character for Bilodeau, a supply technician with 30 years of service, not to report to work.
Bilodeau is described as a white male with short brown hair. He is six-foot-one inches tall and weighs roughly 165 pounds.
He was last seen carrying a standard military pattern olive green duffle bag.
