Halifax Regional Police have charged a man in connection with the 2008 attempted murder of notorious criminal Terry Marriott Jr., who was later murdered.

Police responded to a 911 call about an injured man inside a home on Whitehead Road in Harrietsfield, N.S. on Feb. 20, 2009.

Inside, they found the body of 34-year-old Marriott Jr., who had been shot to death.

During their investigation, police received information there had been a murder attempt on Marriott Jr. on Dec. 2, 2008 in Harrietsfield, but that it hadn’t been reported at the time.

Police arrested 32-year-old Regan Taylor Henneberry at an address on Willow Road in Sambro, N.S. before noon Tuesday.

Henneberry was held in custody overnight and is due to appear in Halifax provincial court Wednesday to face charges of attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Another man is also facing charges in connection with the attempted murder and actual murder of Marriott Jr.

Notorious Halifax-area criminal Jimmy Melvin Jr. was arrested in July and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Marriott Jr.’s 2009 shooting death and attempted murder in connection with the incident in December 2008.
