SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Police have charged a man after a violent altercation in Saint John, N.B., that left one man dead.

Sgt. Jay Henderson of Saint John police says the 33-year-old accused faces a charge of manslaughter in connection with the incident earlier this month.

Officers were called to Peters Street on Nov. 13 after receiving a report of two injured men.

One of the victims, a 27-year-old man, died from his injuries in hospital.

Three suspects were taken into custody, but Henderson says two were released without charge.

Police have said everyone involved in the altercation was known to each other.
