Halifax Regional Police say a man is facing charges after a woman was assaulted in the area of Almon and Dublin streets around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say the man and woman were inside a vehicle at the time. Several witnesses intervened and the woman left the vehicle. The man then fled the area.
Officers located and arrested the suspect a short time later on St. Paul’s Street.
The accused, a 44-year-old man, will face charges of assault, assaulting police and resisting arrest.
Police say the suspect and alleged victim are known to one another.
