A 46-year-old Prince Edward Island man will face a judge Monday in connection with the first murder on the island this year.

Police announced Sunday afternoon that Joel Lawrence Clow from Pleasant Grove has been charged with murder and indecently interfering with human remains.

Clow will appear in court Monday afternoon.

P.E.I. RCMP say they found the body of a female while investigating a complaint from a resident in Pleasant Grove around 2 p.m. on Friday.

Police say the scene remains cornered off, although Route 220 has reopened to traffic.
