A Halifax man is set to appear in court on child pornography charges in February.

Police says investigators searched an apartment on Regency Park Drive on September 26, 2014. A suspect was briefly taken into custody, then released. The suspect’s computer was seized and analyzed.

On December 23 at 4 p.m., 49-year-old Andrew Angus Perkins was re-arrested after turning himself in to police.

Police say he has been released from custody under conditions: he cannot use a mobile device that can access the internet; he cannot communicate with children under the age of 16; and he cannot be within 50 metres of a place frequented by children.

Perkins will appear in Halifax Provincial Court on February 26, 2015.
