The government is offering a reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in the death of Wayne Marriott.

Police responded to 34 Sheppard’s Run in Beechville, N.S. on June 20, 2006. Officers found Marriott suffering from a gunshot wound and a second person had also been injured.

The police investigation revealed possible suspects but no one has ever been charged in the case.

Marriott’s death has been added to Nova Scotia’s Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program. The province is offering a reward of up to $150,000 for information that leads to a conviction in the case.

"I would ask that anyone who has information about this homicide to please come forward and call the rewards' line," said Justice Minister Lena Diab in a statement.

"Mr. Marriott's family deserves closure. New details, no matter how small, can make a difference and help the police solve this case."

The program was launched in October 2006 as an additional tool to help police gather information on unsolved crimes. There are now 71 cases in the program.

Anyone with information about Marriott’s case is asked to call the Rewards for Major Unsolved Crimes Program at 1-888-710-9090.
