A collision in the Bayers Lake area of Halifax on Sunday sent a cyclist to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Halifax Regional Police responded to a call just after 2 p.m. of  a car hitting a bicycle near the intersection of Washmill Lake Drive and Chain Lake Drive.

Police say a 54-year-old cyclist was travelling westbound on Washmill Lake Drive near the entrance of the Scotiabank Cineplex when the vehicle turned left and struck the cyclist.

The cyclist was sent to hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.

No charges were laid against the 87-year-old driver at the time, but a decision will be made once the investigation is complete.
