A taxi crashed through a business on Spring Garden Road in Halifax Friday night.

The crash happened at the Lole athletics store around 7:30 p.m.

Employee Jen McGrath tells CTV News that the cab driver was heading south on Spring Garden Road when he tried to avoid a pedestrian.

Halifax Regional Police say 43-year-old driver struck the 37-year-old woman in a marked crosswalk.

McGrath says the driver swerved right and ended up in the front of the store. She says neither the driver, pedestrian nor employees were injured.

Both the pedestrian and driver were transported to hospital. The taxi driver was given a ticket for failing to stop at a red light and for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.

McGrath says the store will be closed on Saturday.
