Google is paying tribute to Maritime author Lucy Maud Montgomery on what would have been her 141st birthday.

Montgomery, who is best known for creating the world-famous Anne of Green Gables book series, was born on Prince Edward Island on Nov. 30, 1874.

Montgomery went on to publish 20 novels, as well as hundreds of short stories, poem and essays, making her one of Canada’s most celebrated writers.

Most of her novels were set on P.E.I., turning some locations in the province into literary landmarks and popular tourism destinations.

She died on April 24, 1942, at the age of 67.

On Monday, Google marked Montgomery’s birthday with a Doodle featuring her most beloved character, orphan Anne Shirley. The Doodle includes three animated images, each depicting a different scene from Anne of Green Gables, including one scene in which Anne mistakenly bakes a cake with liniment instead of vanilla.

According to Google.com, the scenes were illustrated by Anne fan and Doodler, Olivia Huynh.
