Halifax Regional Police are investigating the suspicious death of a baby boy in Dartmouth.
Police responded to an unknown trouble call at an apartment building in the 200 block of Windmill Road at 9:16 p.m. on Aug. 19.
When officers arrived, they found a three-month-old boy who was unresponsive and in medical distress.
The infant was taken to the hospital, where he died two days later.
An autopsy was conducted Monday but police say further testing is needed to determine the manner of death.
The baby’s next of kin was updated Wednesday and investigators are speaking with family members about the circumstances that led to his death.
