Halifax Regional Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing White’s Lake man.

Michael Slaunwhite, 30, was last seen at the Esso on the Bedford Highway on Friday.

Police responded to a report of a suspicious person at the gas station around 10:30 p.m. A witness told police that Slaunwhite left his car running while he purchased a drink inside.

They say Slaunwhite seemed distraught and quickly ran from the store on foot, leaving his car behind. He was last seen running across the street and behind buildings bordering the Sackville River.

Police say he hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Slaunwhite was reported missing to police Monday.

Investigators say there is no information to suggest Slaunwhite has met with foul play, but they are concerned for his well-being.

Slaunwhite is described as a white man with shaved brown hair and brown eyes. He is five-foot-five and weighs 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing blue plaid pajama pants, a blue plaid work shirt with a black hood, a blue T-shirt with a boat logo and dark brown dress boots. He was also wearing a gold chain with a large cross around his neck.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact police.
