Dates for a bail hearing have been set for a Halifax man accused of murdering an off-duty police officer.

Christopher Calvin Garnier, 28, is charged with second-degree murder and indecently interfering with a dead body in the death of Const. Catherine Campbell.

Campbell, 36, lived in Dartmouth but worked for the Truro Police Service. She was reported missing on Sept. 14, 2015, when she failed to show up for work.

Her remains were found two days later, near the base of an overpass leading to the Macdonald Bridge in Halifax.

Garnier is due back in court for a bail hearing on Dec. 19 and Dec. 20.

The court has set aside five weeks for Garnier’s trial, beginning in November 2017.
