A 29-year-old man from Tignish, P.E.I., is dead after the car he was driving collided with a light pole.
RCMP say the crash happened at about 4:15 a.m. Saturday on Route 2 in Tignish. The vehicle failed to make a turn, left the road and struck a hydro and light pole.
The crash is still under investigation but RCMP say alcohol, excessive speed and failure to use a seatbelt all appear to be contributing factors.
The man’s name is not being released at this time.
