Halifax police say a 20-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly stabbed someone, and then drove the victim to hospital.

Police say they responded to the 900 block of McLean Street in Halifax for a report of a stabbing. They later discovered the suspect drove the victim to the hospital, where he was arrested without incident.

The 23-year-old victim was treated with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the stabbing was not a random act as the victim and the suspect knew each other.

The suspect will appear in court Tuesday to face charges of aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.
