HAMPSTEAD, N.B. --  A lengthy standoff has come to an end at a home in Hampstead, N.B.

Police had been at the scene since 9 p.m. Wednesday. The man didn’t surrender to police until 6 p.m. Thursday.

Initially, the 47-year-old barricaded himself inside his home and refused to come out.

Road blocks were set up on Highway 102 near Hampstead Ferry Road, but have since been removed.

The RCMP continue to investigate.
