An elderly woman was sent to hospital with minor injuries Friday morning after a multi-vehicle collision on Nova Scotia’s Highway 101.

The RCMP responded to the crash near Coldbrook around 8:20 a.m.

Investigators say seven vehicles were involved in the incident between Exit 13 and Exit 14.

One woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The highway was closed for about two hours but has since reopened to traffic.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision but they believe blinding sunlight may have been a factor.
