MARTINS POINT, N.S. - A family of five in Nova Scotia is temporarily homeless after their house was destroyed by fire.

The fire broke out at a two-storey home in Martins Point yesterday around 2 p.m. about 20 kilometres northeast of Bridgewater.

No one was inside the home at the time.

Western Shore fire Chief Scott Rafuse says the roof was collapsing by the time firefighters arrived.

The Red Cross says it is helping a couple and their three children between the ages of three and 16.
