Pete’s announced on Saturday that it will be closing its Wolfville, N.S. location.

After spending three years in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley, the independent grocery store will close at the end of May.

In a release, the company says, “the fully renovated 12,000 square foot space has struggled to capture local customers.”

The company says it will instead concentrate on the Halifax and Bedford stores.

Owner Pete Luckett says the decision was not made lightly.

The valley store employs 50 full and part-time staff.
